Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 March 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using SPScan, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. SPScan is operated by Permission Email Ltd (Company No. 13560555), a company registered in England and Wales.
2. Description of Service
SPScan provides SharePoint permission monitoring, storage analytics, compliance scoring, and alerting for Microsoft 365 tenants. The service connects to your Microsoft 365 environment via the Microsoft Graph API using read-only OAuth access to collect permission structures, storage metrics, and site metadata.
3. Account Registration
To use SPScan, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years of age to use the service. Only one account per person is permitted.
4. Subscription and Billing
SPScan is priced at £5 per connected tenant per month. All new accounts include a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. Billing is handled securely via Stripe. Your subscription quantity is based on the number of active connected tenants in your account. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your access will continue until the end of your current billing period.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the SPScan service. This includes, but is not limited to: attempting to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems; reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the service; using the service to violate any applicable laws or regulations; or interfering with the proper functioning of the service.
6. Microsoft 365 Integration
SPScan requests read-only access to your Microsoft 365 environment. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest and are used solely for accessing the Microsoft Graph API on your behalf. SPScan does not modify your SharePoint configuration, permissions, or data. You must have the appropriate administrator consent to connect tenants to the service.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of SPScan is also governed by our Privacy Policy. SPScan collects permission structures and storage metadata from your SharePoint environment. We do not access or store the contents of your files. Data is retained in accordance with our retention policy, which defaults to 365 days.
8. Intellectual Property
SPScan and all associated branding, code, and documentation are the intellectual property of Permission Email Ltd. You retain full ownership of your data. We claim no ownership rights over the information you provide or that is collected from your Microsoft 365 tenants.
9. Limitation of Liability
SPScan is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Permission Email Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or profits, arising out of your use of the service. We are not liable for any changes to, or outages of, the Microsoft Graph API or Microsoft 365 services that may affect the availability or functionality of SPScan.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may cancel your account through the application settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days to allow for export, after which it will be permanently deleted.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the use of SPScan shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
