About SPScan
SharePoint permission and storage monitoring built for teams that manage Microsoft 365 environments.
Why we built SPScan
Someone changes a sharing link and sensitive data is exposed. A site's storage fills up silently. External shares accumulate without anyone noticing. You only find out when a compliance audit flags it or a user reports that something has gone wrong.
The worst part? These problems are completely preventable. The information is right there in your SharePoint tenant. The permissions changed. The storage filled up. You just didn't know about it.
We spent years managing Microsoft 365 environments for businesses - migrations, tenant administration, security reviews. And we kept running into the same pattern: teams discovering SharePoint permission issues or storage breaches hours or days after they happened, scrambling to figure out what changed, when it changed, and who was responsible.
We looked for a tool that would just watch SharePoint permissions and storage and tell us when something changed. Something simple. Something that could track permission sprawl, flag external shares, and alert on storage quotas without being buried inside a bloated security suite or costing a fortune.
So we built SPScan. Connect a tenant, configure your alerts, and get notified the moment something changes - with clear details showing exactly what's different. That's it.
The problems we solve
Silent permission sprawl
Sharing links and external access accumulate without visibility. Users grant access ad hoc, and nobody tracks what's been shared or with whom.
Storage surprises
Quotas fill up, version bloat grows, nobody notices until it's critical. By then, users can't upload files and productivity grinds to a halt.
No audit trail
No record of what permissions changed, when, or why. When an incident occurs, there's no way to trace back to the root cause.
Compliance blind spots
No automated way to score and track SharePoint security posture. Compliance reviews become manual, time-consuming exercises.
Too many tenants
MSPs managing dozens of client tenants can't manually check each one. You need a single pane of glass across all your clients.
External sharing risk
Anonymous links, guest accounts, and external shares create security gaps that grow silently. Without monitoring, sensitive data leaks go undetected.
What we believe
Visibility over surprise
You should never be surprised by a SharePoint permission change. If something changes, you should know about it immediately - not when a compliance audit flags it.
Simple tools, done well
SPScan does one thing and does it well. We're not a general-purpose security platform. We're focused entirely on SharePoint permission and storage monitoring.
Teams first
Infrastructure is managed by teams, not individuals. SPScan is built with collaboration, shared context, and role-based access from the ground up.
